Many Point / Tomahawk Camp Service Weekend

We are looking for Arrowmen (youth and adults) to attend Tomahawk or Many Point Scout Camps the weekend of May 30 – June 1, 2025, to help get the camps ready for the summer camping season.

There is no cost for this weekend as food will be provided by the Camps. There will be some indoor sleeping accommodations at Tomahawk and Many Point for those who do not want to tent camp for the weekend.

Depending on the level of interest, the Council has vans available to provide transportation to each camp.

Here is the project list for Tomahawk Scout Camp:

  • Staff Tent Platforms*-We have $5000 to put towards improving staff tent platforms. This can be for anything (Fixing Stairs, adding tent rail like in WP, etc) This could use input on the next place to concentrate on and do prep/planning.
  • Sauna Build*- New Sauna for WP Beach. This can be worked on before the weekend and that work dictates what stage it will be in at the time.
  • Gruenhagen Shop Expansion*- Adding a car-port style roof off the side of the Gruenhagen Shop. This can also be worked on before the weekend to get it to certain stages.
  • Lake Neibel Dock*- This is constructing hinged ramps to be at both ends of a new bridge connecting the Dietz hill to WP eco building
  • Admin Skirtboard Install and Siding Painting- Cutting out siding and adding a skirtboard at the central entrance as well as continue to paint the building Camp Brown.
  • Roof Repairs to Chippewa Dining Hall*-There are some roof repairs in various places on the dining hall roof. This could use a point person for the weekend that does some pre-planning
  • Tree work by Dietz and WP Eco- There are some trees that need to be removed to access the new Lake Neibel Bridge and make a trail; as well as other various trees that can be addressed.
  • Low Cope Repairs*- There might be some repairs to the low cope areas that need help
  • Mud Lake Dock Repairs*- There is rotten decking on the mud lake dock that needs to be replaced.
  • Chippewa Door Painting*- There are still doors that need to be painted in Chippewa (as well as other areas at camp). This could use some prep-work and priming beforehand.
  • Sign Painting- There are usually always signs to paint

Here is the list of projects for Many Point Scout Camp:

  • Upgrade the Buckskin and Voyageurs rifle ranges. This includes building fences, constructing temporary shelters, and grass seeding.
